Playing experience
Scott competed for Riverside Poly High from 1977-1980 placing 2nd in CIF in 1978 and 1979. He earned All CIF First Team honors in both 1979 and 1980. In 1980 he was selected as a First Team All American.
In 1981 Scott competed on the US Junior National Team at the World Championships in Italy.
Scott competed for UCLA from 1981-1984. During that time he set a UCLA record for total career goals scored (242) previously set by former Mira Costa star Vince Tonne. He was named First team All America in 1984 after earning All America honors in both 1983 and 1982. He was UCLAs Most Valuable Player in 1982 and 1984 and named Most Valuable Freshman in 1981.
Scott played on Victorias (Australia) national championship team in 1986 and was the top scorer in the national championship tournament. His teammate on that team, Denes Kemeny, is the current head coach of the Hungarian National Team.
Scott played for the US National team from 1985 - 1990 and earned a spot on the 1989 FINA cup team. Many of his former teammates from that era are now coaching major water polo programs including the US National Team. He competed internationally in several countries including Yugoslavia, Russia, Italy, Germany and Hungary.
